Alerts
A pager, push notification, or outbound text can tell you a task finished or needs attention. Whether you can answer in the same channel depends on the tool and its integration.
Two-way SMS replies
Campfire SMS lets a connected agent text your phone and retrieve your reply. For example, an agent asks which failing test to investigate, and you text a specific instruction. With a local agent, that session must be running and checking the bridge for messages.
Webhook wake
For Grok Bot, an incoming SMS can also trigger work. Campfire SMS queues your text and sends a webhook wake event. Grok’s cloud routine starts, retrieves the message, and can reply by SMS even while your PC is off.
This requires a configured, active routine and working hosted MCP credentials. It does not wake a stopped local Codex or Claude Code session.
Choose the behavior you need
- For a completion notice, configure an alert from the task.
- For questions and instructions during local work, use two-way local-agent SMS.
- For a text that starts a cloud Bot run, set up Grok Bot webhook wake.
Whichever path you use, test the behavior you need. Receiving an alert does not prove that replies are processed; a successful webhook probe does not prove the Bot can retrieve your text and reply.
