SMS Terms of Service

Effective August 22, 2026

These SMS Terms of Service (“Terms”) govern your use of Campfire’s SMS messaging program. Campfire provides an SMS messaging service that lets users communicate with connected AI agents and lets those agents send user-authorized task updates, status messages, completion notices, requests for input, and conversational replies.

Campfire SMS Messaging Program

By separately opting in to Campfire SMS messaging, you consent to receive recurring automated text messages from Campfire at the mobile number you provide or use to activate the program. Messages may include connected-agent status updates, task-completion notifications, requests for input, and replies to messages you send. Messages are operational and conversational; Campfire does not use this program to send marketing or promotional messages.

Consent, frequency, and charges

SMS consent is separate from acceptance of these Terms, account creation, and any purchase. Message frequency varies depending on your use of Campfire, activity from your connected agents, and the notification behavior you configure. Message and data rates may apply according to your wireless plan. Consent is not a condition of purchase.

Message length and segmentation

Connected agents are instructed to keep updates concise. Campfire currently accepts inbound instructions of up to one SMS segment and caps each agent-originated outbound message at three SMS segments. It may normalize or truncate longer agent output before submitting the outbound body to Twilio. Message encoding affects segment length; carriers may split and reassemble multipart messages, and message or data charges may apply to each segment. Inbound messages above Campfire’s supported limit may be declined even though telecommunications providers have already processed them for delivery.

Opt-out and help

You may opt out at any time by replying STOP to a Campfire message. After opting out, you will no longer receive Campfire SMS messages unless you subsequently opt in again. Other supported opt-out keywords include STOPALL, UNSUBSCRIBE, CANCEL, END, and QUIT.

For assistance, reply HELP or email campfire.sms.support@gmail.com. If you change or deactivate your mobile number, please opt out before doing so.

Eligibility and acceptable use

You must be at least 13 years old and authorized to use the mobile number you enroll. You agree not to use the Service unlawfully, to harm others, to infringe rights, to distribute malicious content, or to interfere with the Service. If you are under the age of majority where you live, use it only with permission from a parent or legal guardian.

Delivery and critical uses

SMS delivery depends on your carrier, telecommunications providers, the Campfire service, and your connected-agent environment. Delivery is not guaranteed. Wireless carriers are not liable for delayed or undelivered messages. Do not rely on Campfire SMS for emergency communications, safety-critical operations, or time-sensitive actions where delayed or failed delivery could cause harm. The Service may be changed, suspended, or discontinued and may not be available on every carrier or device.

Agent limitations

Your connected agent—not Campfire’s phone number—reasons about and performs work in its environment. Agent output, status reports, and instructions can be inaccurate, incomplete, or inappropriate and should be independently checked. Campfire is not a substitute for professional medical, legal, financial, mental-health, or other expert advice. Do not use Campfire for emergencies. Call 911 or your local emergency service when immediate help is needed.

Privacy

Our Privacy Policy explains how we handle information. Mobile phone numbers, SMS opt-in data, and SMS consent are not sold or shared with third parties or affiliates for their marketing or promotional purposes. SMS is not end-to-end encrypted, and telecommunications providers necessarily process message content and related records to deliver messages.

Disclaimer and limitation of liability

The Service is provided “as is” and “as available” without warranties of any kind, to the fullest extent permitted by law. To the fullest extent permitted by law, Campfire will not be liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or for losses resulting from your reliance on agent output or SMS delivery. Some jurisdictions do not allow certain limitations, so these limitations may not apply to you.

Changes

We may update these Terms. Updates will be posted here with a revised effective date. Your continued use after an update means you accept the revised Terms.
